A web server is a computer system that responds to requests for resources, called pages, using the HTTP protocol (an acronym for HyperText Transfer Protocol) mobile canada number.
The pages served are often – but not always – HTML (HyperText Markup Language) documents, which can include references to images, stylesheets and scripts, as well as text. In this case, the HTTP client (for example, the web browser) will first request the HTML page and, after examining it, will contact the server again to obtain the external resources for which it has found URL references. The client, where appropriate, will progressively complete the rendering of the web page as those resources become available.
Naturally, a web server can also be used to make other types of files available to users, such as compressed and executable files, if the client is able to handle the response properly.
Apache also supports the so-called server-side scripting: this allows to dynamically generate the documents to be served.
