Burberry has just included chips RFID (radio frequency identification) in its new collection garments as part of the new “Smart Personalization” initiative, unveiled this week at London Fashion Week.
The built-in chips will allow users to obtain personalized content that will give them access to make a special order of the new collection, as soon as the garment appears on the catwalks.
Users of the famous British brand will also be able to access the activation of videos on how the pieces are created or the demonstration of how the piece would look with the user’s name engraved on the plates or embroidered on the garment fabric.
The chips will also turn the Phone Number List mirrors of certain Burberry stores into displays with additional information on details of the clothing or the manufacturing process including their first sketches, once the garment comes in contact with a user’s mobile device.
